A Journey Through Marlborough’s Terroir — Brought to Bali with GoDrinks
Last week, Wednesday Oct 1st, GoDrinks hosted an intimate tasting that transported Bali’s wine lovers straight to the rolling vineyards of Marlborough, New Zealand, guided by Lara Campbell, Clos Henri’s passionate Brand Ambassador.
Representing the legendary Bourgeois family of Sancerre, Lara brought with her not only Clos Henri’s elegant wines but also a story of craftsmanship, heritage, and connection to land. Each pour revealed how French winemaking philosophy finds new expression in New Zealand’s distinctive terroir.
The Experience
Guests explored four of Clos Henri’s signature expressions, Estate and Waimaunga Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Noirs, each showcasing a different facet of Marlborough’s diverse soils and microclimates. From the crisp, mineral-driven Sauvignon Blancs to the refined, silky Pinot Noirs, every glass told its own story of balance, purity, and place.
A Conversation Beyond the Glass
As Lara shared, Clos Henri’s philosophy is rooted in respect for soil, vines, and the environment. Every bottle is organically farmed, hand-harvested, and shaped by a team deeply connected to the land.
“We don’t impose our will on the vines,” Lara explained. “We listen and let the terroir speak.”
Her insight reminded everyone in the room why Clos Henri has become a benchmark for balance — Old World soul meeting New World vitality.
